YOUTH WITHOUT BORDERS FOR NATURE AND CLIMATE: international youth camp across Italy and Slovenia

International Youth Camp
When: 23 - 27 May 2025
Where: Julian Prealps Nature Park, Italy (with activities in the Triglav National Park, Slovenia)
Why
- Empowering young people to become active participants in the management of their natural and cultural heritage
- To promote cross-border cooperation and intercultural dialogue
To raise awareness of peace education and climate change
Activities
During the camp, you will jointly identify the needs and expectations of young people in protected areas, learn about tools and initiatives to get involved in decision-making and build a TransParcNet Youth Network to connect with other young people across protected areas.
- Workshops and educational sessions on multicultural dialogue and cooperation
- Excursions and outdoor activities in the Julian Alps
- Meetings and discussions with experts and stakeholders
- Networking and exchange with members of the Julian Alps Biosphere Reserve Youth Advisory Board
Who can apply?
Young people between 18-30 years, living in or close to Transboundary Protected Areas, with interest in nature conservation, transboundary cooperation, climate change and outdoor activities.
Costs
All costs for accommodation an food (from dinner on 23rd to breakfast on 27th) will be covered.
Participants need to cover their own travel costs to and from Tarcento (UD, Italy – closest bus and train station)
Accomodation
“Rifugio Escursionistico Pian dei Ciclamini”. Participants will sleep in big rooms with bunk beds and they will have to bring their own sleeping bag and towels.

The camp is organized by Rete Italiana European Green Belt APS together with Europarc Federation, Parco Naturale Prealpi Giulie (Jualian Prealps Park) and Triglavski Narodni Park (Triglav National Park).
The project is financed by the “Otto per Mille” funds of the Waldesian Church of Italy (Eight per thousand (otto per mille) is the share equalling 8 ‰ = 0.8% from the annual income tax return taxpayers can choose to devolve to a religious denomination as provided by the Italian law).
